YAPS Animal Refuge rescue abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats in Cairns area, Far North Queensland. Our refuge animals stay with us and are lovingly cared for until their ‘forever families’ come along to adopt them.  Some end up living out their days with us as permanent guests.

Since 2019, Cairns Animal Rescue has been providing exceptional care and support for dogs in need.

We are passionate about helping dogs to find their forever homes. Our team operate across Far North Queensland, from the Torres Stait to Charters Towers, providing the highest level of care in a foster home environment.

Animal Rehoming Cairns and Tablelands District is our Facebook name. Our registered name is Animal Rehoming Tablelands. We’re a privately run rescue group and have been operating in the Tablelands/Cairns district since June 2012. The heart of our organisation is our dedicated team of volunteer foster carers who bring our rescues into their homes and care for them as if they were their own until we find the absolute perfect home for them.

North Queensland Animal Rescue is a Cairns based registered charity and is run entirely by volunteers. We accept dogs in need
of re-homing through private surrender and from
council pounds throughout north Queensland.

All dogs in our care are placed in approved, loving
foster homes – we do not have a shelter facility.

A dedicated volunteer group who work diligently on the rehabilitation, vetting and rehoming of cats & kittens in the Cairns region.
All our cats & kittens are searching for their furever homes!
